His achievements as a world-class musician as well as his musical message through Jazz to create peace and sharpen the minds of all mankind to their highest potential were summed up when he was referred to as "Mr. Jazz" by former President George W. Bush and also congratulated by former president Barack Obama for “everything he has accomplished to this point, and…challenging humanity to realize that the forces that unite us are far stronger than the forces that divide us.”
In 2002 Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace performed at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City leading a band consisting of Middle Eastern (both Arab and Israeli), European, Asian, and American jazz musicians in concert for an international audience.
Jazz for Peace has funded over 850 causes and he is dedicated to helping children (“our future”) through his Education Series & Instrument Donation Program.
