Social Engineering: The Psychological Manipulation of People Into Performing Actions.

Jim Keith writes, “An FBI internal memo from 1968 mentions the employment of the Grateful Dead as an avenue ‘to channel youth dissent and rebellion into more benign and non-threatening directions.” Is This true?

The argument made with the grateful dead was that they were involved in distracting young people with drugs to move away from protesting or getting involved in politics but what about using society in the other direction.

It was April 13, 1953, when the then-Director of Central Intelligence officially approved project MKUltra.

The project, which continued for more than a decade, was originally intended to make sure the United States government kept up with presumed Soviet advances in mind-control technology.

MK-Ultra’s “mind control” experiments generally centered around behavior modification via electro-shock therapy, hypnosis, polygraphs, radiation, and a variety of drugs, toxins, and chemicals.

MK-Ultra’s experiments have similarities to the crimes that had been charged to the Nazi officers in Nuremburg, Germany resulting in the sentencing of death for 12 individuals for crimes against humanity.

The MK-ULTRA director, Sidney Gottlieb, can now be seen as the man who brought LSD to America. He was the unwitting godfather of the entire LSD counterculture.
