My guest today, Dre, will be relatable to some as he grew up with parents who abused drugs, lost someone close as a result of the lifestyle involved in the drug world, and has dealt with issues that less than 1% of the population in the United States have identified with.

Misunderstood by most, including many who have gone through this. Dre, a man who was born a female, constantly struggles with the ability to love himself, battles with depression and anxiety, and has been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of childhood trauma.

Before the DSM-5, the DSM-4 identified a Gender Identity Disorder. Dre, has developed a strong transgender congruence, which is the degree to which we feel genuine, authentic, and comfortable within our external appearance and accept our genuine identity. People tend to hate what they don’t understand.

Dre explains his thoughts and feelings about the argument of this being a choice, and not something you were born with. Labels are what destroy and limit us. You are you. I am me. Love is an action that is seen through our behaviors. I can’t say that I love myself without proving it through actions of love.

Dre, who was born a female, is a courageous man who has dealt with Gender Dysphoria. He identified a struggle with self-esteem and is accepting the reality of who he is.
