Global Warming: Is It Real? Are We In Danger? Is It solely Political?

The debate over global climate change centers on a series of questions: Is global warming real?

Is it caused mainly by human activity? How harmful is it likely to be? What can we do about it?

The debate says that Rising global temperatures, warming oceans, and shrinking ice sheets all indicate that the Earth is warming. Many agree is in response to increased greenhouse gas levels, mostly due to human-made emissions. The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit since the 19th century due to increases in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Scientists who study climate change are looking at this so-called greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a process that occurs when energy from the sun goes through its atmosphere and warms the planet's surface, but the atmosphere prevents the heat from returning back to space, resulting in a warmer planet.

Light arriving from our Sun passes through Earth's atmosphere and warms its surface. The warmed surface then radiates heat, which is absorbed by greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. Without the natural greenhouse effect,

Earth's average temperature would be well below freezing. If humans have caused increases in greenhouse gases this traps greater amounts of heat, which will cause the Earth to grow warmer over time.

Walk a Mile in My shoes is an open discussion trying to bring the world together by understanding each other. We want to walk a mile in your shoes and hope you can walk a mile in our shoes. I agree that a mile is a long walk but maybe we can learn to love instead of hate.
