Confederate Flag. What Does it Stand For? Heritage? Racism? What Did They Say Back Then?
No matter which belief people hold to what that symbol stands for, the irony is for which party it stood for and who holds it today. The flag that we see today was never an official flag of the confederacy which questions the validity behind heritage. It was a flag held by the democrats who have attempted to distance themselves from this symbol. John Wilkes Booth was a democrat who stood with the confederacy and killed the very many that the party holding the flag today say they are the party of. Republicans are the party of Lincoln, or so they say, hated and despised that flag which some individuals in his party so proudly fly. Heritage doesn't hold water unless you paint the entire picture.
How do you claim heritage unless you fly the flag and claim proudly that you are a Democrat. That is heritage. Twisting parts of a story to claim a truth by purposefully leaving other parts out to fit an agenda will eventually only make sense to the uneducated. The twisted scenario of a war between the states which is taught today isn't true. If you have claimed a succession and removal from a country and no longer a part of a country; than you are claiming to be your own separate country which means you are no longer a state. If you claim to be a state that is part of that country than you clearly are attempting to take over that country which is the definition of a cue. Treason!!! You can't have it both ways.
Texas, Mississippi, Georgia and South Carolina all issued “Declarations of Causes," which explain their decision to leave the Union. The claim that it wasn't racist is wrong. If you are unsure and question that. Research it for yourself. The flag that is flown is known as the "Battle Flag," and has nothing to do with peace, love, kindness, or equality. It is about war, bloodshed, and a fight that whites are superior to black people.
My encouragement. Say the truth. Stop with the attempt at misleading people by telling stories that are untrue. If you stand by truth, and the people of the south who fought and died for your right to own slaves; then speak your truth. The confederacy lived for four years. What makes heritage? It can't be a flag that was forgotten for many years after the civil war only to be resurrected by the KKK and the Dixiecrats in 1948 as part of their white-supremacy-based campaigns for power. Oh, well, it wasn't racist?

Walk a Mile in My shoes is an open discussion trying to bring the world together by understanding each other. We want to walk a mile in your shoes and hoping you can walk a mile in our shoes. I agree that a mile is a long walk but maybe we can learn to love instead of hate.
